First Aid provision at the worksite is a mandatory part of an organization's Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to address the emergency situations requiring medical treatment and if required transfer the victim to the nearest medical facility.

According to the ILO Convention C155, an employer is held responsible to appoint a certified, registered, well-trained First Aider to address all kinds of emergency situations at the workplace requiring medical treatment.

A trained first-aider is one who is trained by a competent person and registered with the relevant body. He is liable to provide all kind of medical assistance to the injured people at the workplace and if necessary immediately refer to the nearest medical facility for better treatment.
