Download the Method Statement for Diesel Generator Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (ITC)👈
A diesel Generator is used to generate the power and supply it to the desired location. The generator comes in various sizes and the bigger ones require the proper installation on the concrete slab, testing by competent persons so that it is commissioned and handed over to the client for future function.
The first phase of the whole activity is the installation of the generator. Proper civil work is performed, and the concrete slab is prepared using the civil construction layout of the work area so that the correct platform is constructed. The concrete slab should be of approved standard and made up of sound materials.
The second phase of the work activity is the installation and testing of the diesel generator. The diesel generator should be placed correctly over the slab so that it doesn't move or shake during operation. The bolts should be tightened to the required torque. The installation should be performed by a competent person. Once installation is done, the testing is performed on all critical equipment and the electrical connections in order to check and ensure they are connected properly and in a safe manner.
The third phase of the work activity is commissioning. The competent persons should ensure everything is in order as per the standards, and requirements are met. Once the commissioning test is passed, the equipment is handed over to the client for further function.
