Prime mover is used to pull long trailers and shift heavy loads over a long distance. Follow the above link to download the checklist to inspect the vehicle before use and even after use to ensure vehicle is safe.
Following 👇 parameters can be checked and verified:
Physical Appearances
- The physical appearance should be satisfactory.
- The cabin should be in good condition, provided with lock to prevent misuse.
- Seat, seatbelt, control should be in good condition, and functional.
Engine Compartment
- Water, engine oil, brake oil, hydraulic oil level should be as per requirements.
- Battery should be properly attached, joints should be in good condition.
- Fan belt should be tight, not worn off or damaged.
Electrical Wiring
- Wirings, should be in good condition, insulated and labelled.
- Plug and connectors should be free of rust.
Lighting and Warning System
- Front, Rear, Brake Lights, Warning Lights, Interior Cabin Lights should be functional.
- Indicators and Parking Lights should be functional.
- Horn, and Reverse horn should be functional.
Tires
- Tires are in good condition, not worn off.
- Air pressure in the tires is as per requirements.
- Wheel lugs are tightened to the required torque.
- Spare Tire is available.
Hitch
- The hitch is in good condition, provided with safety lock, and inspected.
- The hitch is lubricated and greasing is done.
Emergency Equipment
- First Aid kit and Fire Extinguishers are provided and available with vehicle.
The vehicle should be inspected by the competent person in the presence of the operator to ensure both are aware of the current state.
Once inspection has been completed, observations should be made and closing remarks should be provided by the inspector to endorse that the vehicle is either fit for use or not.
The Inspection checklist should be forwarded to the HoD/MD or responsible person for review and approval.
