The general Lifting Method Statement provides the guidelines about the lifting operation, the associated hazards, and the method to lift the object while maintaining the safety and health throughout the work activity.

Most of the work activities involving lifting and lifting equipment fail  due to incompetent operatives, lack of risk assessment, poor planning, or wrong use of the lifting equipment and the accessories. Moreover, the load being lifted must be installed with the reasonable liftig points otherwise attachments used at the wrong point also lead to incidents e.g., collapse of equipment and the load.
