First Aid is a process to deliver medical assistance on the spot to the injured worker, hence the law requires the organization to establish a First Aid facility at the worksite. First aid can be part of the emergency response plan or separate.
The first aid procedure is devised to ensure the correct method is conveyed to everyone on how to deliver the first aid. Furthermore, the organization shows commitment to the First Aid procedure implementation at all levels through the policy.
A fully compatible first aid kit should be available at the worksite, and the organization should also deploy a trained, experienced, and registered first aider at the worksite. The first aider should be responsible for all first aid activities and train fellow workers as well. The first aid training and first aid items usage should be recorded.
